Deann Winkle combines furniture
and sculptural elements to create
one of a kind objects in her
studio in Smithville, TN where
she is currently an Artist in
Residence at the Appalachian
Center for Craft. Her work
involves the scrutiny of form,
color and line. While working
within these parameters, she has
toyed with the simple arrangement
of the dot and line. The
combination of these elementary
marks have resulted in an
exciting, somewhat quirky
dialogue of characters. Her
furniture forms are simple and
serve as empty canvases for color
and line. Her work has been shown
both nationally and
internationally and is in a
number of private collections.
