Chairmaker and remodeling contractor Richard Melby says that he would use nothing else but our milk paint on his Windsor chairs. He uses a base coat of Pumpkin, then several coats of a Federal Blue/Pitch Black mixture, then rubs through to expose some of the Pumpkin. He follows this with boiled linseed oil and then finally some Johnson’s Pledge. The end result is a chair that looks like it could be 200 years old.
